Cintsa Thatching: Company Project Portfolio - Large Thatching Contracts
◊ Mthatha Dam Conference Centre | Mthatha Dam, Eastern Cape, South Africa
In 2011 Cintsa Thatching worked with MGMopp Construction and UWP Consulting in the building of a highly engineered pole structure and thatched roof for the new conference centre at Mthatha Dam. This job included the custom carpentry of large triangular window frames. The huge roof came out spectacularly with clean, straight angles and extrordinarily neat thatching.
The project was a great exercise for Cintsa Thatching in working closely with engineers and architects to achieve a pole constructed roof within millimeters of the specified plans, in working with stringent helath and safety rules and regulations, and in working in isolated areas with limited or no access to electricity.
The original roof and window frames, plus a small internal thatch roof came to the approximate value of R 850 000.00.
In 2014 a thatched gate house was also built and thatched by Cintsa Thatching at the entrance to the conference centre. The value of this work was approximately R100 000.00.
